On Monday, August 12, the Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission considered and approved preliminary site and operational plans for a facility expansion that houses Volkswagen Group of America LLC. The request was made by Jeff Smith, agent for Verde 88th Avenue LLC, owners of the property located at 11589 88th Avenue in the LakeView Corporate Park for approval of site grading, underground utilities, and footing and foundation for an 86,808 square foot warehouse distribution addition for Volkswagen Group of America.
There are currently 40 full-time employees working one shift at the facility. There are no plans to hire new employees with the expansion. It is estimated that there will be an average of 40 daily automobile trips and an average of 20 day truck trips to and from the site.
Construction is proposed to begin at the end of August and planned to be completed in spring of 2020.
