On June 10, Pleasant Prairie Patriots Swim Team member Keegan Knott, a Tokyo 2020 Paralympian and USA National Team Member, set an American Record in the 1500 Meter S9 Freestyle event. Knott set the record at her home pool in the RecPlex Aqua Arena in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. She beat the previous American Record time of 20:25.67, established in June 2019, by finishing the event with a time of 19:50.45.
Knott is an internationally ranked swimmer who competed for Team USA in Lima, Peru, in 2019 at the Para-Pan American Games and in 2021 at the Tokyo Paralympic Games. Knott does her club swimming at RecPlex with the Pleasant Prairie Patriots (PX3), a team that emerged in 2011, originally known as the Kenosha Barracudas that started in 1969. PX3 is one of approximately 64 swim teams in Wisconsin registered with the state and national Wisconsin Swimming and USA Swimming organizations.
PX3 provides a year-round competitive swim team with high-quality professional coaching and technique instruction. The swim team operates out of a state-of-the-art 50-meter training pool located within RecPlex, the country's largest municipal-run recreation facility. The swim group promotes aquatic excellence in a safe, healthy, and positive environment.
