Public Safety Communication

Public Safety Communications Center

The Village of Pleasant Prairie maintains a 24 hour public safety communications center which receives and dispatches calls for police, fire & rescue, and after-hours emergencies for all other Village departments. Located at the Prange Municipal Center, the communications center employs seven dispatchers, a dispatch supervisor and is managed by the Police Department’s Law Enforcement Support Manager. In 2018 the communications center handled over 20,000 total calls for police, fire, and emergency services.

Technology plays a big part of maintaining communication between citizens and public safety agencies. The communications center is equipped with a state-of-the-art touch screen radio system, live mapping of police unit locations, and live camera feeds. In 2018 the communications center received new radio console hardware and software in order to keep up with new technology and serve the community more efficiently.
