Preliminary Site and Operational Plans Approved for Work Related to Uline’s Second Corporate Office Building in Pleasant Prairie
On Monday, March 9, the Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission considered and approved Preliminary Site and Operational Plans for Uline that will allow them to seek additional required approvals related to the construction of a second office building near its Pleasant Prairie corporate campus. Uline has plans to purchase land along the west I-94 frontage road that is currently owned by Pleasant Prairie’s Community Development Authority and to build a 298,000 square foot office building.
Uline has indicated to Village staff that the new office building will accommodate the continued growth of the family-owned company. Uline has also indicated that the new office building’s proximity to the company’s current headquarters will offer operational benefits in terms of maintaining the company culture and facilitating efficient communication and quick decision making.
A preliminary timeline presented by Uline indicates that the company could possibly close on the purchase of the property in mid-May, begin mass grading in June, submit final site and operational plans for consideration to the Village in July/August, and subsequently begin construction. The preliminary timeline is dependent upon the receipt of regulatory approvals. Completion of the new office building is anticipated during early 2017.
Uline is proposing to construct a building that is very similar to their existing office building. The new building is expected to initially employ 500 people, with that number expected to grow to 800 in the future.
Uline is also constructing a second 1.1 million square foot warehouse at its corporate headquarters and currently occupies two additional warehouse locations in Pleasant Prairie, one on 88th Avenue and one on 100th Street.
