If you are interested in renting out a room, home, second home, investment property or cabin for overnight stays to the general public for a fee there are state and local laws to be considered.
To apply for a local permit with Pleasant Prairie, complete the Application and include a copy of the license issued by DATCP, if short-term rental is for more than 10 nights each year as defined by Wis. Stats. §97.01(15)(k), with the Application fee of $10.00. If modifying the existing structure to create the rental, contact the Building Inspection Department and/or Community Development Department for permitting requirements.
