Park Information

Pleasant Prairie consists of an outstanding blend of recreational, commercial, industrial and residential areas that cover 34 square miles. More than 25% of the land in the Village is protected by conservancy zoning. The Chiwaukee Prairie, a wetland of international importance, and the Des Plaines River Flood Plain are just two examples of the Village’s commitment to a quality balance of rural and urban experiences.

The Village prides itself on its nature preserves and landscape. It is the Public Works Department's focus to effectively manage the Village's healthy natural areas, and provide the quality landscaping within the parks, trails, and open spaces.

The Public Works Department designs, plants, and maintains all the decorative plantings in public spaces. From flowerbeds in Village Green to customized plantings in the parks and Public Works crews keep Pleasant Prairie beautiful.

RecPlex

The Village of Pleasant Prairie offers one of the largest family oriented municipally owned recreation centers in Wisconsin - RecPlex. RecPlex is located on the shore of Lake Andrea, inside Prairie Springs Park. With a combined 302,000 square feet, this impressive facility house a 50 meter Olympic-size pool, Water Park, fitness center, athletic field house, and two NHL sized ice rinks. RecPlex offers programs and services to enhance quality of life in the area and serves as a community gathering space.

RecPlex and Prairie Springs Park host large sporting and community events throughout the year.

Village residents enjoy the outdoors year-round with great views of Lake Michigan and Lake Andrea. Walking, biking, rollerblading, swimming, sailboarding, soccer, baseball, and ice fishing are common activities in Pleasant Prairie.
