Village Overview

The Village of Pleasant Prairie is located in the southeastern corner of Wisconsin, and is bordered by Illinois, Lake Michigan, I-94, and the City of Kenosha. The Village boundaries encompass a total area of 33.64 square miles with a balanced blend of residential neighborhoods, natural areas, retail shopping areas, and commercial and manufacturing districts. 

The Village incorporated in 1989 with a population, at the time, of roughly 11,961. Since then the Village has experienced tremendous growth, both in terms of population and commercial and industrial growth.

The Village has also seen significant commercial growth. The chart below shows the commercial building square footage growth year over year.

The current development projects slated to occur in the Village and region over the next several years are indicative of a continued healthy growth trend. Based on property value, Pleasant Prairie ranks as one of the largest manufacturing municipality in the State of Wisconsin, exceeded only by Milwaukee, Green Bay, Madison, and Menomonee Falls.
