Beaver dams have impeded the water flow of the creek and have created problems with flooding in areas abutting the creek. Beavers have also destroyed hundreds of trees in the area. Work will be scheduled along the creek, west of Unit W in Carol Beach during winter months. Crews will wait until the ground freezes enough to support the equipment needed to complete the work. Public Works crews will first brush a trail to gain access to the areas where the dams will be removed. They will then use a backhoe to remove the dams.
