On June 30, a line of storms with strong and damaging winds uprooted trees and downed a large number of tree branches. Following the storm, once areas were determined to be safe from downed power lines, Village crews began cleanup efforts. Crews went throughout the Village performing a special collection of yard debris related to the storm.
CLEANUP COMPLETE
Special roadside cleanup following the June 30 storm is now complete. Village crews have completed three rounds through the Village collecting brush and downed branches related to the storm. Residents with branches or yard waste may continue to visit the Village Compost Site, located at 8600 Green Bay Road, in order to dispose of further yard debris.
CLEANUP COSTS SUBMITTED FOR POSSIBLE REIMBURSEMENT
Village staff has compiled a breakdown of storm cleanup costs. The total estimated cost for cleanup related to the storm is $120,000. Staff has submitted this amount to the State of Wisconsin - Emergency Management. Emergency Management will determine if this event qualifies as a disaster event, making the Village eligible for a partial reimbursement of the storm cleanup costs. If the event qualifies, the Village expects to receive reimbursement for about 70% of the total cleanup costs.
