The Department of Transportation (DOT) is currently working on a the construction of roundabouts on State Highway 165. Work at 39th Avenue has taken longer than originally anticipated. Barring further weather-related delays, the intersection at Highway 165 and 39th Avenue is now expected to be complete at the end of July.
Work at the intersection of Highway 165 and Springbrook Road is already underway, though the intersection has remained open. In order to make up more time on the project, the contractor has closed a portion of Highway 165 west of Springbrook Road to through traffic only. Local traffic may still access their homes.
The entire intersection of Highway 165 and Springbrook Road will be closed for construction near the end of July, following the reopening of the intersection of Highway 165 and 39th Avenue. Detour routes will once again be posted and are similar to those for the closure of the 39th Avenue intersection. The closure is expected to last through the end of the fall construction season.
With the opening of the 39th Avenue intersection, the Department of Transportation would like to offer travelers information to better navigate the new roundabout. Attached as a PDF below, you'll find a diagram and instructions to encourage a more smooth and safe transition once the new intersection opens.
