
The Pleasant Prairie Police Department, in collaboration with the Kenosha Area Noon Optimist Club and Great Lakes Cycling, will host the annual Bicycle Rodeo on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Pleasant Prairie Village Hall, 9915 39th Avenue. This free event is open to children ages five to 11 (Kindergarten to fifth grade). The Bicycle Rodeo is designed to teach bicycle safety skills through interactive stations and simulated real-life situations.
The rodeo will feature bike agility courses, safety games, raffle prizes, and educational activities. Participants will rotate through various stations focusing on bicycle handling skills and safety techniques. The event will take place in the south parking lot of Village Hall, with parking available in the north lot.
Additional features include a helmet and t-shirt giveaway, bike inspections, helmet fittings, personalized bicycle ID licenses, certificates of completion, and safety resources for children and adults. Cycling Without Age Walworth County and RecPlex Therapeutic Recreation will provide adaptive bicycles for use during the event, specifically designed for children with special needs.
Advance registration is required by May 13, 2026. Registration details are available at
PleasantPrairieWi.gov/BicycleRodeo. Participants are required to bring their own bicycles and are encouraged to arrive early for their scheduled time slot.
