The RecPlex Aqua Arena has reopened following repairs to resolve an issue with the plaster in the pool. The pool is now available for members and day-pass users for lap swimming. On Saturday, October 29 the Aqua Arena will resume hosting swim meets, with varying meets scheduled on: October 29-30, November 5, November 6, November 12, November 18-20, and December 2-4.
This past summer, a small piece of plaster lining the competition pool at RecPlex dislodged. In response, the pool was drained to assess the matter. Inspection of the pool revealed that the issue with the plaster was occurring throughout the pool. In order to effectively address the issue, all of the plaster in the pool was removed and reapplied. The repairs have since been completed and the Aqua Arena has now reopened. “This was a large, unexpected closure that has impacted our members and guests,” explained Carol Willke, Recreation Director for the Village. “We would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience as we worked to repair the pool. Our members have really been wonderful.”
