
On Tuesday, March 29, Gordon Food Service (GFS) celebrated the grand opening of it's new GFS Marketplace in Pleasant Prairie. The store, located south of the Chili's restaurant near the intersection of Highways 50 and 31, opened for business at the end of March. During the ribbon cutting ceremony, GFS representatives and local community leaders addressed the crowd gathered for the event.
During the ceremony, representatives from GFS presented the Kenosha Achievement Center with a $1,000 check for their organization's use. The Kenosha Achievement Center is a non-profit group committed to supporting persons with special needs. GFS representatives also presented the Shalom Center with a $500 gift card. The Shalom Center is a non-profit group that provides emergency food, shelter and support to those in need. Local officials expressed gratitude to GFS for their good corporate citizenship and recognized their record of investing heavily in the communities in which they are located.
