FLOODPLAIN BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENT APPROVED FOR WORK RELATED TO CONSTRUCTION OF A CONFERENCE CENTER AT ULINE'S CORPORATE CAMPUS
On Monday, June 15, the Pleasant Prairie Village Board considered and approved a Floodplain Boundary Adjustment on property located at 12575 Uline Drive. This approval will allow the company to seek additional regulatory approvals relating to the floodplain as part of a construction project at their corporate headquarters.
On Monday, June 8, the Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission conditionally approved Preliminary Site and Operational Plans for Uline to construct a two-level, 22,500 square foot conference center at their corporate campus in Pleasant Prairie. The June 8 approval enabled Uline to begin grading work outside of the floodplain for the project.
Uline representatives have been working with representatives from neighboring property owner, Jockey International, to ensure that plans for the conference center will not impact the neighboring property. With those discussions complete, more detailed, Final Site and Operational Plans will be submitted to the Village for review and consideration this August.
The conference center is being planned for private use and would be used, on average, one time per week for corporate meetings, conferences and events with approximately 200 to 300 attendees. The building is expected to include a large gathering area on the main floor and a deck overlooking the existing pond.
Uline is currently constructing a second 1.1 million square foot warehouse at its corporate headquarters and is in the planning stages for the construction of a second corporate office building on property along the West I-94 Frontage Road very near its corporate campus.
