LEFT TURN LANE TO BE ADDED ON HIGHWAY 165 AT SHERIDAN ROAD INTERSECTION
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has approved a request from Kenosha County and the Village of Pleasant Prairie to construct a left turn lane for vehicles on State Highway 165 at the intersection with Sheridan Road. The pavement widening project will begin the week of June 8 and is expected to be completed in two days (timing will be weather dependent).
Pavement will be widened on the north side of the highway; there will be little work on the existing travel lanes. Throughout the work, the intersection will remain open, and flaggers will direct traffic as needed. Message boards alerting travelers to the work have been placed in the area of the intersection.
The purpose of the work is to relieve some of the current congestion at the intersection. The project will be funded by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
Motorists are asked to please use great care when driving in areas of road construction and when driving through detour routes. Please pay close attention, use slower speeds, and please consider the safety of those who work or live in road construction and road detour areas.
