ACCESS TO CHANGE ON NORTH END OF PROJECT AREA
On Thursday, August 13, contractors working on the 39th Avenue reconstruction project notified Village representatives that access on the north end of the project area will change on Friday, August 14 at 9:00 a.m. The access change will affect Gordy’s, Old Oaks Professional Building, Village Hall and Fire Station #1.
As of Friday, August 14, patrons will be able to access Gordy’s and Old Oaks Professional Building via a reopened segment of 39th Avenue; patrons will no longer be able to access Gordy’s or Old Oaks from Springbrook Road.
As of Friday, August 14, access to Village Hall and Fire Station #1 will shift from Springbrook Road to a temporary access road adjacent to Springbrook Road. The temporary access road will allow the project contractor to remove and rebuild Springbrook Road in front of Village Hall and Fire Station #1 as part of the reconstruction of the intersection at 39th Avenue and Springbrook Road.
The area will remain closed to through traffic until the project is completed this fall. Updated wayfinding signage will be posted notifying drivers of the access changes; please watch for wayfinding signage as you approach the project area.
The Village and all involved in the project appreciate peoples’ patience as the improvements progress. These changes are intended to improve traffic flow and to better serve the area as it grows and changes in the coming years.
