UTILITY BILL CHANGE EXPECTED THIS OCTOBER/NOVEMBER - CHANGE WILL ALSO AFFECT RESIDENTS WITH AUTOPAY
NEW UTILITY BILL FORMAT
The image at the right shows approximately what the new utility bill will look like when it arrives in residents homes near the end of this year. Finance staff is aiming to begin using the new letter sized bills for the October billing statement, which should arrive in homes in early November. This timing, however, will be dependent upon how well the final stages of conversion, training, and testing go for the new billing software.
The new letter sized utility bill will replace the postcard sized bill that residents receive on a monthly basis. The new billing software will incorporate more up-to-date technology intended to make the billing process more efficient. The bill at the left will be mailed to residents in a double window envelope from Pleasant Prairie Utilities.
ONLINE PAYMENTS THROUGH PSN WILL ALSO CHANGE
Online utility bill payments that are currently made through Payment Services Network, Inc. (PSN) will be affected by the change in billing software as well. Online billing will soon be managed by Village staff through the new software as opposed to using an outside vendor. The new software will continue to offer online bill viewing, automatic payment and online single payment options.
Residents who previously paid their bill through PSN, however, will need to establish a new online account. Those residents that receive a monthly email notifying them that their utility bill is available for online viewing will continue to receive this notification via email.
Once the final training and improvement phase has been completed, Village staff will be mailing a letter to all who receive a utility bill. The letter will provide additional detail related to the change. Village staff would like to thank residents for their patience as the new software changes are finalized and as staff becomes acclimated to the new utility billing process.
