The Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission approved Site and Operational Plans on Monday, March 16, 2026, for World Pac International USA to occupy the building at 9449 88th Avenue in LakeView Corporate Park. The company currently operates in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, and plans to relocate its operations to the Pleasant Prairie facility. The approximately 40,000-square-foot building was formerly occupied by LakeView Technology Academy and will be used as a food packaging, converting, and distribution facility.
World Pac International USA specializes in packaging materials for the food industry, including artificial casings designed to add flavor and form products such as sausages or similar foods during processing. The company receives packaging materials and flavoring or seasoning ingredients, applies the flavorings, and repackages the materials for distribution. Operations include flavor application, packaging, palletized storage, and shipping. The facility will not process or manufacture food products on-site.
Interior improvements are planned to accommodate food-grade processing operations. These improvements include selective interior demolition, new interior wall construction, updated finishes, replacement of the heating and ventilation system, roof replacement, and fire protection modifications. No exterior site modifications are currently proposed.
According to the application submitted to the Village, the facility is expected to employ 25 full-time employees and one part-time employee. The site operating and delivery hours are planned to be Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a maximum of four truck trips to and from the site per day. The property includes 140 parking spaces, including five accessible spaces.
Approval of the Site and Operational Plans includes conditions related to building permits, fire and safety review, licensing, signage, and compliance with applicable Village ordinances and building codes. Occupancy of the building is anticipated in August 2026 following completion of interior modifications and issuance of required permits.
