On Tuesday, March 22, at about 8:40 p.m., Pleasant Prairie Police officers responded to a vehicle stalled in traffic in the intersection on 104th Street and 120th Avenue. As the officers approached, they observed a 25-year-old Kenosha male passed out behind the wheel of his running car. Officers attempted to awaken the driver to no avail. Officers were forced to break the passenger window to gain entry, the driver was still unconscious at that point.

Officers secured the car by placing it in park and aided the driver who appeared to be suffering from an overdose. Officers utilized NARCAN to revive the driver who was then treated by Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue personnel and transported to a local medical facility for treatment. Officers located prescription medication in the car that was not prescribed to the driver. The driver indicated that he had snorted the prescription medication that he believed was an opioid.

After being released from the medical facility, the driver was transported to the Kenosha County Jail and is facing a felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance along with a Municipal charge of 1st Offense OWI.

The NARCAN program that the Village of Pleasant Prairie Police participate in is a collaborative effort between the Kenosha County Department of Health and the Village of Pleasant Prairie Police Department.
