Union Pacific Green Bay Road Closure

Union Pacific Railroad Plans Green Bay Road Closure for Crossing Maintenance
Posted on 11/10/2021
The Union Pacific Railroad plans to close the existing crossing on State Trunk Highway 31 (Green Bay Road) 0.6 mile south of State Trunk Highway 50 (STH 50). The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic on Green Bay Road. Railroad maintenance and road closures will begin on Monday, November 15, 2021, and take approximately five days to complete.

Green Bay Road will be closed at the railroad crossing between Bain Station Road and 79th Street for the duration of the project. Construction crews will provide access to all residences and businesses in the area. Motorists can travel south on Green Bay Road from STH 50 to access Meijer and other stores north of the railroad crossing. Posted detour signage will direct traffic along State Trunk Highway 165, I-94, and STH 50.

The scheduled completion date for the work is weather dependent. If work is completed ahead of schedule, the road will reopen accordingly. Drivers in the project area are asked to abide by construction signage and drive with great care, patience, and thoughtful attention while this work is being completed.
