Waukegan Steel Approved for Occupation in LakeView Corporate Park

The Plan Commission approved Site and Operational Plans for Waukegan Steel to occupy and commence operations within 118,500 square feet of a 205,080 square foot building. The location is at 8500 116th Street, just east of the 88th Avenue - Springbrook Road intersection in the LakeView Corporate Park. Founded in 1929, Waukegan Steel is an AISC-certified, MBE-certified structural steel fabricator. Its offerings include in-house detailing, full BIM capabilities, and pre-construction support.

This approval will provide Pleasant Prairie strong economic development through approx. 70 immediate new jobs, with additional hiring expected. Waukegan Steel is expected to begin operations at the facility in September 2026.
