K-9 Receives Donation

Pleasant Prairie K-9 Receives Donation
Posted on 05/04/2021
The Pleasant Prairie Police Department's K-9 fund received a very generous donation from an anonymous source. The donation was made in memory of Randy Copenharve, the former President of Racine Based Postorino Construction Finishes, who was instrumental in arranging funding to purchase and train the Police Department's current K-9, Chase.

Randy Copenharve passed away suddenly in September of 2020. The donation made in his name will support the purchase of a GPS tool that will track K-9 Chase's location when he is on duty. The funds will also purchase a protective suit for K-9 training exercises and more K-9 Chase plush toys that the Police Department will use for future fundraising and outreach efforts.

"The donation is a wonderful gift offered in Randy's memory," said David Smetana, Police Chief. "Randy was an individual who was highly committed to the community. His service, dedication, and generosity were truly inspiring."
