Extended Leaf Collection

Extended Leaf Collection (Fall 2023)
Posted on 11/17/2023
As part of the Solid Waste Services, the Pleasant Prairie Public Works Department provides Village residents with loose, unbagged leaf collection on a seasonal basis. Currently advancing through the last scheduled round of the fall leaf collection, the Village plans to extend the collection service into mid-December 2023 with one additional round of leaf collection.

The extended fall leaf collection will occur on the following dates by collection zone: Zone 1 on December 1, Zone 2 on December 4, Zone 3 on December 5, Zone 4 on December 6, Zone 5 on December 7, Zone 6 on December 8, Zone 7 on December 11, Zone 8 on December 12, and Zone 9 on December 13.

The extended leaf collection schedule is weather-dependent and may fluctuate due to snow or ice events. Timing can also change due to unforeseen equipment issues or emergencies that pull staff off schedule. Residents should have leaves ready by 6:00 a.m., placing them piled at the curb or within six feet of the roadside. Leaves mixed with other yard waste, such as potted/garden plants or branches, will not be collected because they can damage the leaf collection vacuum and cause costly delays.

If residents miss their final round of leaf collection, Pleasant Prairie residents may bring their leaves to the Residential Recycling Center at 8000 128th Street. On Saturday, December 2, the Residential Recycling Center will enter the off-season and only be open on Saturdays between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The site will resume on-season hours in March 2024.
